The village of Tavel is located 12 km from Avignon, 27 km from Uzes. From our home it’s a 5 minute walk to the center. You’ll find a bakery, a grocery-store, a pharmacy and 5 restaurants, doctor, dentist etc... The village approx. 1500 inhabitants is calm, the growing of vines and the wine production dictate the rhythm of life. There are 2 big commercial zones at 10 minutes by car, one in direction of Avignon and the other in direction of Bagnols sur Ceze.
Tavel renowned for it's rosé wine is located in the cote du rhone valley. Surrounded by vines obviously. The villages of Lirac and Chateuneuf de Pape are only a few kilometers away. The forests are great for hiking or biking. The Mt. Ventoux can be seen from our garden. The Mediterrean Sea is an hours drive.. beach, sailing, kitesurfing...
The theatre festival of Avignon in July is not to be missed. The antique market in Isles surla Sorgue neither... so much to be enjoyed.
And maybe most important... 300 days of Sunhine a year.
